A few months ago we lost our dog to a rare disease, I never thought he would have affected me and my family the way he did. He was part of my family for 9 years.
After discussing his particular situation with are veterinarian, I ultimately had to have him euthanized. I thought the process would be easy, I was wrong. We took the night to say are good byes, and I realized he was a part of the family. He brought laughter, companionship, and funny moments to our lives.
The hardest thing I had to witness was how it affected my children. They were so upset and emotional, but at the same time I witnessed how much he was loved and how much he will be missed. Since his passing my children have become more passionate towards animals.
The bond that was created between him and my children will never be forgotten. He taught my children a life lesson I couldn’t have taught them, how to deal with death and say good bye.
